Between the Lines is a book written by Jodi Picoult and her daughter, Samantha van Leer. In it, Delilah, a social outcast at her school, absolutely loves books. One day at the school library, she finds a fairy tale titled Between the Lines stuffed into the shelves. She checks it out, and falls in love with the book… and possibly one of the characters, too. She relates to Oliver very well, and admires his intelligence and cleverness. With the help of Prince Oliver, she discovers that sometimes, happily ever after… isn’t.
